Project Christmas 2024
Project Christmas is a community supported event, committed to serving those who have experienced financial difficulties so they can have a good Christmas.
For 30 years, Project Christmas has been working to help qualifying families in Wexford and Missaukee counties. Many of these families and individuals would not be able to celebrate Christmas without our support. We work year round in coordination with several local organizations to prepare for the large community event each December.
Thank you for everyone that volunteered for 2024!

Our History
1989: Five women in the local Christian community organized a holiday giving program to provide Christmas for the disadvantaged residents of Wexford County. That year, 335 families and 1200 individuals were served on a $25,000 budget.
1990: The number of families who received through Project Christmas totaled 610 – almost double that of the first year.
1998: Missaukee County joined.
2004: A seven-member Board of Directors was established. We currently have thirteen board members.
2005: In July of 2005, Project Christmas became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
2008: The Salvation Army and Toys for Tots joined our efforts. With the poor economy and families hit hard financially, we served our largest group to date in 2008, totaling 1135 families and 3400 individuals.
2017: We served 918 families, 2928 individuals.
2018: The community need remains steady.
